True Life Presents: Camp'd Out- I'm Going to Rock Camp
Camp Jam was featured in an hour long episode of MTV's new series, "True Life presents: Camp'd Out --I'm Going to Rock Camp." Follow four of our Camp Jammers as they embark on their weeklong journey at our Camp Jam Overnight program in Chicago. Watch them as they fulfill their dreams of rocking on the big stage at the House of Blues Chicago.
The four musicians -- Rebekah, Zella, Asuka and Chris -- were each chosen by MTV for their compelling life stories and musical chops. They along with 80 other Camp Jammers shared an incredible week of making music, learning everything from stage technique and songwriting from rock legends to performing on the concert stage in front of hundreds of family and friends.
The show was filmed with a 10 person production crew from MTV at our first Camp Jam Overnight session outside of Chicago at Lake Forest Academy. Camp Jam was not involved in the show's production, and as it's a reality show, we're sure it has lots of surprises. So tune in this Saturday at 2:30p.m., and Happy New Year from your friends at Camp Jam.

Koni-chiwa,
Since being at Camp I have continued to sing and have had the opportunity to perform locally. It is indescribable, the rush of being on stage and getting feedback from the crowd. All of the things I learned at camp and the advice from the counselors have come in handy with my skating, dancing and singing. It is funny because now when I go to concerts I really get it, all the effort that goes into putting on a show and connecting with the audience. The biggest thing since camp is my dad is now supporting my rock ambition and I now include singing and song writing on my resume. My dad even got me an electric guitar for x-mas. :D This summer I plan to return to Camp Jam to reconnect with friends and just have another awesome experience.

First off I just wanted to say that camp was such an amazingggg experience! I made so many new friends and all the counselors were so great and funny. After camp I was inspired to write more songs, and I did! With amazing support from the people around me, I got to record my first album! It includes 9 original songs with one cover called Brand New Key, by Melanie. Being in the studio was so awesome, and a little bit hard. I was in there almost eight hours every day and sometimes I did get a little tired, but in the end, everything was entirely worth it. Right now, I'm just performing, playing soccer, and snowboarding. The snow is great up here so I've been up almost everyday! I love it, I just learned a one eighty and a three sixty! I’m so stoked to be doing all these things in my life but most of all.... expressing my self through music. It helps me connect with people. I hope everyone will go and listen to my songs that are freshly posted on my website! Thanks for everything you guys, and hope to see you again sometime soon!

Rebekah Roy
Hey there! This is Rebekah Roy! Whew ever since camp jam, I can't even start to explain how much I've been working on trying to find all kinds of different songs to choose from for next year a camp! I've also been pretty busy with my own stuff, I currently have about 10 songs all completed and ready to go, all thats left for me to do now is just try and find people that can help me put music together and make the songs complete! I've also been pretty busy with my music at school too, I'm in Eureka High Schools show choir (Onstage!) and we do all kinds of different songs that spread out fully across the musical board! Onstage is a performing choir, we sing and we dance!! Its so much fun! Personally one of my favorite songs that we've done is Rubberneckin' originally done by Elvis Presley but the music is just a tad bit different, but I tell you what its a really good song to sing and dance to! I've also been busy with cheerleading, I'm a Eureka Hockey cheerleader, I know you're probably thinking, wait hockey has cheerleading? Yep! Hockey has cheerleading and cheerleaders, and I'm one of them! We actually have competition coming up on January 31st and I'm quite excited for that! I mean who doesn't like to show off their moves? I've also been busy with my horses! My one horse Spatz has been hurt for the past 8 months now and just recently I've had the OK to ride him so he should be back to normal very soon! Dang I didn't relize how busy I was till I really started talking about it! But I'm super excited about my music and the way everything is going to turn out for camp jam! And finally my last statement is, If you love to sing dance and perform, then I must say Camp Jam is most definitely the place to be!

Chris Iorio
Hey everyone, I just wanted to give you an update of what has happened since Camp Jam this past summer. My band Adelitas Way and I spent the rest of summer showcasing for record labels in New York and L.A and we ending up signing a record deal with Virgin/Capitol. We have been in the studio in Chicago with Grammy nominated producer Johnny K.(Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, Staind) since the end of November. Right now the album is listed to come out in May. We are setting up tours right now and it's looking like we will be heading out with bands such as Shinedown, Theory of a Deadman, and Saliva later this year. This whole experience has been amazing. It had it's ups and it's downs, but they have all paid off in the end.
I could have never done anything without the things I have learned at Camp Jam. I have been going there since I was 13 back in 2004 when the camp had just opened, and went every year since.
Rock on,
Chris
