Switchfits Raise Funds For St. Louis Camp Jam Scholarship Program

The Switchfits, a trio of St. Louis teens who credit Camp Jam for the bands creation, recently offered to show their support for the summer rock music camp by putting together a local concert to benefit Camp Jam's Scholarship Program.

After being recognized for their baseball-themed rock song "On Our Way" that was used during the St. Louis Cardinal's 2009 post-season and for the band's achievement in NAMM's Schooljam USA Battle of the Bands competition, The Switchfits decided it was time to harness their regional fame and give back.

Young Rockers To Compete Online For Title Of Best Rock Soloist

ATLANTA - Camp Jam, the ultimate rock summer camp for kids ages seven to 17, is hosting the inaugural Battle of the Online Rock Solos this Spring. The free, interactive online music contest gives young rockers the chance to showcase their talent online via YouTube, receive personal video feedback from some of the music industry's top Rock Legends and win prizes, including new musical gear and, for one grand prize winner, a one-on-one jam session in his or her hometown with a legendary rock star.

Popular among kids and teens who would rather rock out in a band than paddle in a canoe over the summer months, Camp Jam's Summer Rock Music Camp is the place for musicians of all skill levels. Camp Jam offers day programs for young jammers ages 11 to 17, for pint-size rockers ages 7 to 10 and for ages 12-17 interested in a week-long overnight camp experience - all of which feature a curriculum filled with instrument-specific instruction on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums and vocals as well as classes covering the essentials of playing in a band.
